He has been board certified in Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine as well as Level II accredited by the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation for over 20 years. As a 1991 graduate of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, he has advanced his specialty practice through a higher level of continuing education to produce superior treatment results that set him apart as one of Colorado Springs’ Top Doctors. Dr. Sandell’s professional interests include sports and spine injuries, neuromuscular medicine and pain management. He performs steroid injections, electro-diagnostic testing (EMG’s), ultrasound guided large joint injections, therapeutic BOTOX injections, IME’s and level II accredited worker’s compensation evaluations.
Dr. Sandell and his physician assistant share compassion and commitment when treating patients with chronic pain and are attuned to this population’s requirements. Outside of the office Dr. Sandell has completed 150 triathlons, seven iron man competitions and six world championships. “Living in Colorado all my life, I enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle and enjoy helping patients do the same”, Dr. Sandell. His enthusiasm for competitive sports is superseded by his love for family. His wife Dyan and their two children complete his active lifestyle.
